The Trenery Technical Designer - Menswear, Provides sound technical advice to product developers and designers in understanding how the desired style and fit can be achieved. Responsible for the design brief pack to the vendor and ensuring quality standards are met throughout the process. The role will actively troubleshoot with stakeholders when technical issues may arise, presenting options and solution aligned to the brand/Group objectives.
Key Accountabilities
Provide technical advice and support to the team regarding styling and fitting requirements.
Create and maintain accurate technical packs in the PLM system for all styles, or through an agreed manual process if no system is available.
Establish and maintain appropriate construction standards across all categories with suppliers, ensuring alignment with the brand’s quality expectations
Pre-measure, QC check, steam, and hang all samples prior to fitting sessions. Identify variances and workmanship or construction issues, and clearly communicate them during the session.
Ensure all fit comments and construction changes are accurately captured and loaded into the PLM system after each fitting session.
Maintain detailed records of product specifications, testing results, and quality control measures
Establish strong communication channels with designers, the production team, and external suppliers to ensure company strategic initiatives and targets are met.
Key Capabilities
Proven product development experience, particularly with knitwear design and manufacturing.
Familiarity with managing relationships and operations involving overseas suppliers.
Understanding of garment grading and sizing, understanding of patternmaking
Attention to detail in both workmanship and overall quality of a garment.
Computer Skills including Adobe Illustrator and PLM System
Proficient in Microsoft Outlook and Excel for communication and data management.
Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop, for design purposes.
CAD/Pattern Making software experience
